I am new here. I received an augmentation in 1991. I had a breast lift this last year. One of my breast are tender now for 1 week. Are there any ladies here who are in my situation or can you anyone offer any advice. Oh, by the way they do sag after pregnancy and time, that is why 1 5 years later and 2 pregnancies I've gotten a lift. No, I did not change my silicone implants, although I did think about it. My doctor said, if there wasn't anything wrong with them why change them. I thought over time they would leak. Did anyone have problems with leakage? Thanks!

I'm almost 6 months post-op from a BA and my bewbs are still very tender...my left one more so than the other. My PS says there is nothing abnormal about it and that it's just a healing process.

Im obviously not a doctor, but it could be that you are still in the healing process. I say check in with your PS to hear what he/she has to say

If it has been awhile since your lift and they're feeling tender, you should check with your doctor. I don't want to speculate anything, so you should definitely check.

Wait a minute...you had surgery and using the same implants...that are from 1991, none the less???

I had silicone implants in back then too, they are the runny sort, so if they break, they tend to leak all over the place in oppose of the new cohesive sort. Your surgeon should have told you to get new ones, the recommendations are to do that anyways every 10 to 15 years!

Plus, one should never use the same implant after going in for more surgery, you never know what small nics can be done, that are not visible in the OR but will seep in your body when placed back in.

Your surgeon sounds irresponsible, to say the least!!!

I am 3 weeks out of my new boob job, I had to have correction surgery on the left one 2 days later and I got a brand new implant, free, so we didn't have to use the same after going in.

Good luck to you anyhow. The pain though, that can be just normal, you just had surgery.

if it doesn't feel right, then definitely you need to have it checked. i heard humors that this could be dangerous. i'm not sure how serious it could be though...
